That’s right, it’s nectarine season!! Are you as excited as I am? Maybe not? Too bad.
Sweet, delicious nectarines. These ones are grown in my backyard, and it doesn’t get much fresher than this. It took about two years for the tree to mature enough to produce actual fruit, but oh boy was it worth it. Luckily, they were perfectly ripe for the fourth of July, and we’re not talking about the store-brand ripe that is created with a spray-on product or chemical. These jewels fell off in your hand and were absolutely perfect. I was originally planning to cook with them, but why would you cook with a fruit that is so juicy and delectable right off the tree?
To celebrate the occasion, I’ve found some lip-smackingly good recipes featuring nectarines for you to try. Yes, some of these recipes call for peaches, not nectarines. But I’ve made an executive decision that nectarines would make a formidable, if not superior, substitute. Move aside, peaches! It’s time for the nectarines to get the attention they truly deserve!
